So - what will our service do for you? "Global Media Station
"
Webcasting
brings your service, product, trade show; conference or AGM directly
to audiences, from the local Community to the Region, Country; anywhere around the World.
Awacs has enabled the Ministry of Health to netcast live and archive - special
events including the recent 2001 Commonwealth Health Ministers Meeting.
Get your strategic message to clients or the public directly via the
world-wide web. Awacs netcast John Roadleys final address from Field Days
three days before a crucial vote on the dairy companies mega-merger.
Enhance your companys existing website, using sound and or video, including
company profiles, product presentations, training videos and promotional material
as Awacs did for Nelson company, GoldPine Industries. Awacs audio and video hosting
service makes this easy, for an all-inclusive price. This is an excellent export marketing
tool.
Awacs also offers advice on every aspect of webcasting, and streaming
media, including archive design; security and strategic analysis, advising on sites such
as the New Zealand Edge owned by Kevin Roberts and Brian Sweeney.

Awacs Project History:
- March 1997 - June 2001:
Delivered live and archive service of Radio New
Zealands National Radio service. Awacs designed and built an automated archiving
system which stood the test of millions of audio sessions.
- February 1998 - 2002
Awacs is licensed by the BBC World to carry a Live feed
of the BBC World television service on the Internet, via a continuous live encode. This
also creates a seven day rolling archive making all programming over the past week
available to viewers. Awacs is one of only two licensees in the world for this content.
- 1999 - 2000
Awacs provided the video server for the video and audio content on the Y2K
Commissions website. Awacs did the transcoding for such material as media
interviews, training videos and the entertaining series of ads for the Y2K Commission,
featuring the award winning animated coachroach.
- 1999
During the election campaign, the National Party contracted Awacs to
provide the media server for its website. Awacs transcoded the Partys video
material, and mounted it on the net.
- 1999 - 2002
Awacs transcoded and mounted corporate video material for Goldpine Industries of
Nelson, enabling the company to project its message internationally. The service operates
on a fixed price basis for archive hosting.
- 2000 - 2001
Provided video & audio hosting for Telecom XtraMSNs Internet
News portal site, one of the busiest in Asia. This contract included multi-media hosting
of two live music channels, Radio New Zealand interview clips, IRN news, TV3 News and
cinema trailers. The video was hosted at speeds of 300kbs, 100kbs and 34kbs, with 300kbs
video providing near television quality.
- July 2001
Awacs provided video hosting for the 50K Coronet Peak Downhill race, on
behalf of Compaq New Zealand. On the mountain there was a live broadcast facility
with 12 cameras which provided a mixed live feed of the race over fourteen hours. The
encoded Live program was viewed during the race by people at over 1,300 unique computers,
including Adidas HQ and other major corporates worldwide who "tuned-in" for an
average of 40mins.
- 2001 - 2002
Awacs has completed several projects for the Ministry of Health,
providing video and audio hosting for launches and conferences, most recently for the
Commonwealth Health Ministers meeting in Christchurch last November. Parts of the meeting
were netcast as audio, and then mounted as an archive of the event. In the wake of the
terrorist attacks in the United States, this service enabled representatives in various
countries to follow what was happening at the conference, despite being kept at home by
security concerns.
